This opportunity is also open to those whose personal circumstances mean that training in Porirua wouldn't be possible, like applicants who have family support in Auckland. If you are in this situation please talk to your Selection Specialist.

If I live in Auckland, can I go home during the week?

Is the training the same as at the Royal New Zealand Police College in Wellington?
Answer

Yes. The Auckland wing delivers the same curriculum and standards as the Royal New Zealand Police College in Porirua. Some training components will be delivered offsite and will be communicated to you once you have been selected for the Auckland wing.

Can I choose between the Auckland wing or a Wellington wing?
Answer

Applicants that are living in Northland, Counties Manukau, Auckland City and Waitematā districts will be asked to fill in a form at the initial stages of the recruitment process, indicating your preference to train at our Auckland facility.

While Police aim to accommodate preferences, final placement may depend on operational needs. This will be discussed with you during the recruitment process.

This opportunity is also open to those whose personal circumstances mean that training in Porirua wouldn't be possible, like applicants who have family support in Auckland. If you are in this situation please discuss with your Selection Specialist.
